I thought this was pretty funny. So I drew the picture below in 2000 and I completely forgot about it and just happened to draw the same picture (above) 10 years later. Look at the dragonfly he is even the same! It's really fun to watch the progress of a practice over the years.

I think I am going to re-design the bark in all of the trees which is going to be such a pain but I think it will be worth it. I'm really loving this one. Happy Tuesday!

Pay attention to the detail. It's pretty amazing that Alex Grey painted this in 1989. Beautiful picture...scary picture. It definitely speaks to me.

New Project

I had a request to draw my friend and her 3 sisters as fairies in the woods and this is what I have come up with so far. Landscape is not something I typically work on so it has been a real challenge and something I have put off for too long so I am challenging myself to just do it now. I have 3 friends requesting tree pieces at the moment so it's time to step out of my comfort zone. I don't know if it is the familiar woods but so far it feels like home.

I am finished with him for now because I want to color him in.  I need to get a scanner first so I can do it with the best quality. Shopping on Amazon this week...

What to do what to do...

Oh I hope I can finish this by the end of the day, it isn't as easy as I thought it would be, my ideas keep changing and things keep happening, but sometimes I just tend to think too much on a project and it delays my progress. Hope your day is going smoother than mine, wish me luck!

Where Octopus stands June 10 2013

Been working doubles at the sushi bar last couple of days and in between work, exercise, and sleep I have managed to squeeze some time in to this. I have today and tomorrow off so when I'm done cleaning the house, I'm finishing it. There is seriously nothing like a clean home, it's amazing what it does to my mood. Oh and is it just me or are fresh & clean bed sheets equivalent to heaven?* Happy Monday! Xo

Listening to Stevie Wonder + City and Colour this week. Life is good.

Octopus so far...

I want to somehow fill the veins in with a bright almost glowing turquoise or blue and color the skin red. I need to learn how to paint.

Just learned that an octopus has three hearts. Two pump blood to each of the two gills, while the third pumps blood through the body.

Octopuses are the weirdest things!! Just look at his skin and his head, like that's an alien. Just confirmed my next project.

Owned

So while I was still rough drafting yesterday the wind flew this piece into the lake and soaked the entire thing until I could paddle out and rescue it. So I set it out to dry all night and thank god it wasn't destroyed but it did mess up the texture of the paper and made the pen work difficult to outline but here it is with us.

New project
