Day 2: The Fox

It took me a little longer to finish this piece because I spent a couple hours making veggie soup from scratch. So yummy!

The Bear

Day 1 = Success
Okay, I drank half a coffee with a dash of condensed milk. Let's face facts--I'm not doing this cold turkey. I drink one cup of coffee in the mornings and I work early shifts so unless I can find a decent vegan coffee creamer, this is my exception to the rules. I'm still trying to talk myself in to allowing goat cheese in my salads. I can do that, right?

Day 1: Breakfast

Starting my day off with a banana, raspberry, blueberry, peach & orange juice smoothie with vegan sausage and a bear.

20 day challenge

I have decided to spend the next 20 days as a vegan. I'd start today but I ate a pastrami sandwich for lunch so, uh, that's out but I cooked an amazing vegan meal for dinner tonight with plenty leftover for tomorrow that will make an easy start. This is something I have been wanting to do for a long time and if you know me at all then you know how much I love meat, I just couldn't do it. Cheese, too especially goat cheese. It won't be easy but it is something I feel true in my heart to be the best thing for me, at least to try and I'm ready for the challenge.

This past week has been slow as far as art goes and I know the core reason is because of my despicable diet of take out & ramen noodles. That on top of Netflix (by the way, has anyone else seen Wilfred? Surprisingly funny) I honestly didn't get anything done. Enough is enough.

Above you see grilled tofu marinated in lemon, olive oil, minced garlic, cilantro, salt & fresh ground pepper topped with a Mediterranean salad made of diced tomatoes, avocado, cucumber, scallions, kalamata olives and cilantro mixed with white wine vinegar, salt and pepper. This serving and a cold glass of beer was more than filling and so delicious it eases my concerns about the next 20 days.

With this challenge I am going to complete a new drawing each day.

Now is the time to place your bets folks. Think I'll cave? Is there anyone out there who wants to join me? Keep in touch.

New project

Sketched my favorite hound during some downtime at the shelter today. This is Bandit.

He unfolded his arms when I brought out my camera but his arms are always crossed it's one of my favorite things about him and he is always this mellow, I don't even bother putting him on a leash when I take him out. You can find me chilling right here with this boy at the end of my shifts.

New project

The Mermaid

I just noticed something...I couldn't decide what to use as pasties. I wasn't going to use anything at first but then at the last minute I decided starfish would be cute. Well now, because of the big starfish, all I see are baby starfish being used as an accessory. They're not though it's seaweed covered with red clay and oil.

Moral of the story...follow your intuition.

Brandons Stairway to Heaven (rough drafting)

Maybe something like this...

Mind over matter

Normally I don't post pictures of my pets (or my best friends pets^) but I laugh every time I look at this picture. Regis does not mind that cone, he is always so happy!

The belly dancer was featured in this months issue of Volup2! Of course it just happens to be the NUDE issue muahaha what can I say? The big ladies get me.

As a belly dancer myself, I thought it was very well done, I'm happy I got to be a part of it. Check it out in full in the link below.

New project

Another really cool and challenging new request. This one involves a tree, space and music--the things that make my friend Brandon happy. Such an great concept, I still have no idea how I am going to pull this off but the tree is a good start. I'm already pleased.
